So...I had a requirement to connect a wired-only device to our WiFi network. Being a reasonably heavy user of Draytek products, I looked at their range of Access Points to determine which would be most suitable; whichever I selected would have to work in "station" or client-mode. I checked the website and found that the AP-710's product details stated that it supported station mode, specifically:
"Station - The AP-710 acts as a wireless client to another wireless access point. Ideal for games consoles or PCs which need a self-contained 'intelligent' wireless interface with connectivity provided via their Ethernet point."
Bought it, logged in to the admin interface, went to operating modes, no station mode. OK, thinks I, maybe it's in a later version of the firmware. Update it - still no station mode. Check the site again; yep, it's there...
