Vigor 2960 problem with users list.

Hello All

I have a big problem with my router. Through carelessness, I used the "Apply all" option in the user management menu. I wanted to disable access to "ssltunel" for several users. Applying all caused that the user list is now empty, I can not log into the web interface using any user. The only option I have left is putty and ssh, but nowhere can I find the command list for the ssh terminal. I do not have any copy of the configuration. Any suggestions?

dear all,

i have purchased a Draytek Vigor 3900. after logged in default IP (192.168.1.1), i can see the information of default "lan1" in LAN > General Setup

but when i change any thing of it (IP, VLAN ID...i can not access the router with new IP.

event when i have created a new LAN with IP 192.168.0.1 and delete the default "lan1", but still can not connect to router by IP 192.168.0.1 (already release and renew IP, set static IP as same subnet/gateway as router).

is there any solution for this ?

thank you.

Draytek Vigor 2862 Bandwidth Allocation.

Hi,

We have a Draytek Vigor 2862 and a 50 MB Leased Line. Three Servers and around twelve Clients, all Windows.

On one Server we have SAGE 50 Accounts (S50A) installed and SAGE Drive (SD) in the Cloud. S50A (when a change is made) copies the Data to SD for Sales guys to access remotely.

I want to take the 50 MB Leased Line bandwidth and specifically allocate a dedicated 5 MB to the Server with S50A installed. So it uses that 5 MB specifically and the other 45MB is used on the rest of the Network with the rest of the Clients.

After contacting Draytek they said to use the Bandwidth Management option. From what I can see all this does is allow the S50A Server to only use the allocation of 5 MB and not a dedicated 5 MB?

I asked them if QoS was the way forward and they said no; Bandwidth Management. From my analysis and research this is...

Strange DNS change on Draytek routers

Since the past week, apparently randomly, some of our Draytek routers (Vigor 2860) inexplicably change the default DNS servers for LAN1 to 38.134.121.XX and 8.8.8.8 (primary and secondary).

Routers are in different locations, with different IP addresses. After we first noticed this, we decided to change all the passwords, check for hidden user accounts and disable access from WAN (except from our Head Office). Today, another router had the same problem (with exactly the same addresses set as DNS)

Googling that IP address doesn't give any helpful result, apart from the fact that it seems to be located in California (we are in the UK).

Does anybody know if Draytek routers have any 'fallback', default DNS address?

Draytek 2860n VLANs

Hi,

I've currently got the Draytek 2860n and I'm trying to get two different subnets talking to each other. I have VLAN1 as 10.0.100.0/24 and VLAN2 as 192.168.67.0/24. I've been trying to get these to talk to each other through the one router.

Within the Router I have it setup as:

LAN Port 1 - 10.0.100.240 - DHCP disabled, Status option ticked and I've not put in any gateway in the server address hereas use server for DHCP is disabled

LAN Port 2 - 192.168.67.10- DHCP disabled, Status option ticked and I've not put in any gateway in the server address here as use server for DHCP is disabled

VLAN1 looks at LAN1 via Port 1 and VLAN2 looks at LAN2 via Port 2 when VLAN is enabled, no tagging is being used.

On the LAN Setup page I've enabled inter-VLAN routing between VLAN1 and VLAN2.

Other than that the router is as factory defaults.

IPSEC VPN on Draytek Vigor 3900

So I'm at the end of my tether and limit of my knowledge here and hoping that some friendly SpiceHeads might be able to help me out...

For the last month I have been trying to get a simple IPSEC VPN working using our Draytek but dozens of hours later I cannot make it work.

Part of the issue is that the company that I work for use a managed firewall service and so getting changes made is difficult.

The current situation is this:

Draytek LAN IP 10.0.0.28
Drayek LAN subnet 255.255.255.0

Draytek WAN IP 212.50.202.217
Draytek WAN subnet 255.255.255.254
Draytek WAN gateway 10.0.0.5

Local Site internet router LAN IP 10.0.0.5
Local site internet router subnet 255.255.255.0

Using these settings we can access the Draytek login page from the web but there is no connectivity from the Draytek itself to the outside world.

WAN Failover to 4G - SIP/VoIP not working

Hi.

I've got a Draytek 2860 on latest firmware, with leased line WAN2 and USB 4G modem (supported) on WAN3 set as failover.

The failover works almost instantly and is a dream for all normal IP traffic from PCs.

However, the VoIP phones do not reconnect/reregister with the VoIP provider (Voipfone) - they just sit there saying unregistered. Rebooting phone makes no different.

(I left it 5-10m but had to go back to primary internet as no one was getting calls and you know, users lol).

Voipfone do not have IP restrictions, so its not that. The 4G network does allow VoIP traffic and this works fine (with same handsets and provider on other routers/modems, eg. Ubiquiti Edgemax +external 4G modem.

So its not a concept or provider issue, but probably a draytek setting.

ALG is off. But QoS is on. Am I missing a setting? Does the Draytek need to...

Setting up Vpn - draytek 2830vn

Hi.

I have an office which has gone cloud, and connect to RDS. All client machines are dumb terminals, and they all have a remote desktop icon on their desktop for connecting to their 'actual' desktops.

We have a local networked printer in the office, but we want users to work from home to be able to print in our office.

I have setup vpn on the server (2016) and have a draytek 2830vn lying around. Googling is hard for what we are trying to do, due to so many other unrelated standard VPN questions.

I want to connect the printer (sharp mx 5000n) to the draytek, and connect the draytek to the server via cloud, so users around the world can print in the office.

I've played around, and searched, but I can't make it work. Anyone who has experience of this exact setup please pass on your knowledge!

DHCP / LDAP / Draytek / VPN issue

So one for Spiceheads to really get their teeth into here.

I have a Draytek Vigor 3900 device that I have set up a VPN service to allow staff to connect when they're not in the office.
After something of a battle, I managed to get LDAP authentication working, so that the VPN checks that a user is in a particular security group and that controls their access.

I've hit an issue at the last though, that I simply cannot fix.

Some users can log in and some cannot - the Draytek error logs reveal quite clearly that those who cannot log in are not being issued an IP address so the tunnel is dropping.

I cannot understand why they're not getting an address though, when other users are

For the avoidance of doubt, I'm changing nothing except the username and password when I'm doing this, so there are no other variables and the Draytek is logging

Anybody having problems with CSRF & DNS vulnerability firmware?

Hi,

I have two Draytek Vigor gateways on site, one provided by our telecoms provider for out dedicated hosted VOIP, the other is for our general business gateway.

Both have been updated with latest firmware updates, and both are exhibiting stability issues since the update where there were none before.

I have had to restart the VOIP router twice in the past week, and our general gateway router has also had to be restarted as it was causing issues with our web proxy, throughput performance was generally poor even when not using the proxy so took the decision to restart the router this am with a significant improvement in performance.

Is anybody else having these issues after installing the latest security advisory firmware on their device?

Cheers

SIP trunks

We're using a Draytek Vigor 2912 router to connect SIP trunks coming in on a dedicated internet connection to a digital telephone system

When we call out of the system back into the system, to an extension, we get choppy voice.

This is only the second time we've used a Draytek.  The first one we installed on a diff system is working flawlessly.

This one, not so great.

Any thoughts ?

Vigor 2862Vac with external firewall (pfsense)

$

Hi,

Is it possible to route all traffic through an external firewall (pfsense) without losing the wifi/SIP interfaces?

I am intending to use port 5 (VLAN = lan2) connected to the WAN interface on pfsense and all other ports (VLAN = lan1) connected to a switch on the LAN interface of pfsense.

In addition to the IN-to-OUT NAT, I need to NAT up to 32 WAN aliases to internal IP addresses.  I can probably sort the pfsense configuration once I have a clear plan.

I don't think putting the 2862 into bridge (PPoE passthrough) allows me to retain the use of the wifi and SIP functionality.

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

All best,

Chris.

A little help troubleshooting VPN issues

Hi there folks,

Having a pretty weird issue with some IPSec site-to-site VPNs set up on Draytek routers.

I have a home worker that is trying to access servers in two sites. Usually, she'd connect to a site via a Windows PPTP VPN, and from there is able to browse to locations in different sites through the IPSec site-to-site VPNs.

So say you've got Site 1, where Server1 is located, and Site 2 where Server 2 is located. She should be able to connect to Site 1 and still access Server 2, but this isn't happening. Nor vice versa when she connects to Site 2.

The ISP is Virgin Media. We often see issues with VPNs due to the fact they block PPTP, IPSec, Multicast passthrough by default on their routers, but these are enabled. I've also made sure that the ISP DNS 'Helper' service has been opted out of.

I've also tried setting the user up with the...

DNS Name resoltuion for DHCP clients

Is there any way to configure a Draytek to link the onboard DNS & DHCP server - so DHCP clients that ge their IP from the Draytek can also get their name/IP in the Draytek DNS server.

NSLOOKUP against the draytek for external hosts is fine, just not LAN hosts.

Thanks

Push all traffic through remote gateway on Draytek VPN

Hi.

I have two Draytek 2860 routers in a PPTP VPN. The main router has internal IP address of 192.168.0.254, the remote router has an IP of 192.168.1.1. DHCP is enabled on both routers. From the remote site I can ping 192.168.0.254, but I want to force all traffic from the remote site over the VPN, so it emerges from the WAN IP of the main site.

How do I go about this? Thanks in advance.

hi all,

a simple question for people with draytek vigour routers hopefully

i am creating a new firewall rule and i want to block all LANS accessing eachother (they call this inter vlan routing)

if you see my attachment if i make one new rule and block ANY source to ANY dest and ANY service type, will this work, or will this block my managment to the router aswell so i will need to create another rule to allow access from one host to the routers ip on port 8080?

cheers,

rob
